PP Update: Dinner is served!

PASSION PIT UPDATE #3

One of the oddest phenomena related to restoration
is that it's all about putting things back in their proper place.
Hence much of what has happened at the Passion Pit
during the last eighteen months is hidden.
Most walk in only to be impressed by the accoutrements,
NOT the unseen infrastructure.

THE DINING ROOM

Then
The dining room was at one time split into two rooms.
As was the kitchen therefore requiring two doors.
When we bought the house,
this family sized dining room
served as a pseudo family room and more.

Now
While it's hard to believe it's the same room,
we're proud to bring it back to all it's glory.
The mural is the work of
Christine Baranet.
We asked her to capture Montana
in a fresh, modern, and chic manner.
BRAVO TINA!

Then
The two kitchen portals were odd at best.
And the paint job even worse.

Now
Our guests now dine surrounded
by the beauty of Montana's Big Sky.
Isn't it amazing?

Then
Even in it's prior state, this was a stately room.

Now
After sealing the second door, restoring the wainscoting,
strengthening the ceiling joists, replastering,
plus restoring and refinishing the floor,
it is truly a new room.

Still to come are window treatments
plus a custom upholstered cushion
for the new window seat (radiator cover)

We're also waiting for the balance of our window treatments
to be delivered and installed throughout the house.

Therefore today's update will be the last for a week or two.
Hope you've enjoyed the tour thus far...
